The twelve-month Rome fellowship at Villa Medici, open by competition to any nationality rather than by invitation. The French-language requirement is the real filter, not the nationality.
Twelve-month residency for creation, experimentation and research, running September to August. Online application via concours-pensionnaires.villamedici.it with a CV in French, a project proposal of at most 10 pages and portfolio material under 20 MB.
Who can apply
Aged 18 or over at the closing date, any nationality, already working professionally. Candidates must speak French regardless of nationality. Former fellows of the French Academy in Rome may not reapply.
