Among the largest per-artist grants in this calendar — five travel grants of EUR 25,000 and seven residency grants of EUR 12,500 to EUR 25,000 — but only for artists with a documented Hesse connection.
Five travel grants at EUR 25,000; seven residency grants at EUR 12,500-25,000 depending on location and year; two combined residency-travel grants at EUR 15,000. Residency locations: New York, London, Paris (Cité internationale des arts), Istanbul and Kyoto (Goethe-Institut Villa Kamogawa). Further production and presentation funding up to EUR 7,700 for three years afterwards. Deadline 23:59 CET.
Who can apply
Visual artists born in Hesse, living there since 1 January 2025, or who completed an art degree there. Artist duos may apply jointly. Excluded: previous recipients, current students, and relatives of jury members.
